Permanent makeup

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing designed to enhance our look without  makeup. While  the same intensity might not be achieved as traditional makeup or regular tattoos, its purpose is to help individuals feel confident and polished from the moment they wake up and look in the mirror.

Permanent makeup

Soft Powder

The permanent makeup is done with an electric tattoo device, that helps to achieve a soft, shaded look.

This  technique  mimics the appearance of more conventional brow makeup. Would you like a stronger, more defined or soft , light, airy eyebrow look?

After the consultation, we can choose the best suitable style for you, that is carefully measured to the face shape of the individual, yet the style, strength can be tweaked to your taste.

The results can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, regular colour boosts are recommended to retain the shape and saturation of the pigment.

Microblading

Microblading is another form of cosmetic eyebrow tattooing. Unlike the shading technique, it is done by a handheld device, with a blade shaped end that has tiny needled, which use a tattoo gun, microblading uses a blade-shaped tool with a row of tiny, barely visible needles to create hair-like strokes along your brows while depositing pigment into your skin. The result? Realistic-looking brow hairs that don’t wash off for a year or more.

The main treatment requires a touchup  within 1-3 month, then results can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, regular colour boosts are recommended to retain the shape and saturation of the pigment.

Hybrid Eyebrow

Hybrid brows are  the mixture of microblading and shading technique. Great for clients, who have no eyebrow hair and would like to add some depth to their microblading strokes .

The main treatment requires a touchup  within 1-3 month, then results can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, regular colour boosts are recommended to retain the shape and saturation of the pigment.

Lipblush

Lipblush is a shading technique, where we enhance the color of our lip. The aim is to get a light, natural color , rather than a strong, lipstick look. Some individual , who has faded lipline (which is a completely natural aging process), the lipblush can optically widen their lip. With this tattooing method we never go outside of the vermillion border (lipline).

The main treatment requires a touchup  within 1-3 month, then results can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, regular colour boosts are recommended to retain the shape and saturation of the pigment.

Freckles

Freckle tattoo is a type of permanent makeup procedure, where tiny freckle like, irregular dot pigments are implanted to the skin.

As we clean, exfoliate this area more than the eyebrow area, also the skin is different,  it fades faster than micro blading or brow shading, still the effect should last up to a year then gently fades away.

The main treatment requires a touchup  within 1-3 month, then colour boosts are recommended every couple of years, if we would like to retain the color.

CHECK IF YOU CAN HAVE A TREATMENT

YOU ARE UNABLE TO GET A COSMETIC TATTOO IF YOU ARE / HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

    • Under the age of 18 as it is illegal
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding as there is a risk of infection which can be harmful to both mother and baby
    • If you have viral infections or diseases
    • Blood Clotting Disorders/Haemophilia
    • If you have had major heart issues or organ transplants
    • Have skin irritations/Eczema or Psoriasis on the area to be treated
    • If you are taking Accutane medication
    • Medically diagnosed Keloid Scarring
    • Hyperpigmentation
    • Allergy for pigments (allergy test is done for everyone before the treatment)

YOU CAN GET A COSMETIC TATTOO IF YOU ARE / HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING, BUT YOU WILL NEED MEDICAL CONS

    • After you stop taking Accutane medication

Topical steroids thin the skin. Depending on the stage your skin is at, it may be too fragile to undergo procedure. You should get clearance from your doctor before considering permanent make-up.

    • Herpes Simplex

People who get fever blisters and/or cold sores may experience an outbreak after procedure. It’s imperative that you discuss the procedure with your physician before the procedure and receive proper instructions how to prevent an outbreak post procedure. Most physicians will offer a prescription for Zovirax or Valtrex to take prior to and after procedure.

    • Diabetes type 1

If you are insulin dependent, you are not a candidate for permanent make-up. Healing could be compromised and take longer than average. Otherwise, if your doctor feels your condition is under control you may request a letter stating that you are able to undergo cosmetic tattooing.

    • Epilepsy

Medication may cause side effects which may result in fainting during the treatment

    • Medications and Antibiotics

Some of them can affect healing and recovery from treatment which might result in poor retention.

    • Anticoagulants (blood thinners)

Long term use of heparin, aspirin, ibuprofen and some herbs reduce clotting time resulting in increased bleeding and bruising, which will affect the implantation of pigment as well as increase the healing time.

    • Autoimmune disease (cancer, HIV etc.)

You should get clearance from your doctor before considering permanent make-up.

    • Glaucoma

You may not have eyeliner. Increased intra ocular pressure combined with pressure placed on the eye to apply eyeliner could be damaging. It is important to have this condition under control and/or refer to your physician for further consent to the application of eyeliner.

    • Vitiligo

There is a risk of spreading the vitiligo. I cannot treat white areas, but I am able to work around it as long as You happy to accept a risk.

    • General health

You should always be fit and well, and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You should avoid heavy drinking the day prior to Your treatment, alcohol can thin the blood and cause excess bleeding-lowering retention.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at amaranthinebb@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

For powderbrows mostly everybody is suitable (exceptions read incontraindications part). Microblading is great for only normal or normal/dry skintype. If you have oily skin, larger pores, unfortunately this technique will not heal well. It will fade faster and the strokes with time can blend, which does't look nice. If you are unsure, what skintype you have, feel free to contact  me.

In this case, please contact  me through WhatsApp (+33 7 80 81 94 61) or email ( amaranthinebb@gmail.com) and send a clear picture, done by daylight, with the back camera (not the selfie one). Sometimes touching up other artist's work requires more time and effort, as colour  and shape correction, needs to be done. Unfortunately in some cases, removal is necessary to fade the permanent makeup enough to be able to cover it up. (when too much pigment was implanted too deep and they became tattoo-like, oversaturated, the skin is unable to take more pigments)

A patch test (pigment allergy test) is required for all initial bookings. This can be sent to you via post (please provide a home or work address, including your name by text or email) or can be done in the salon. Please note that we require a new patch test for each treatment area -brows, lips or eyeliner.
A patch test must be done at least 48h before the treatment.

After that the treatment can be book through the website or by me.

You can explain everything about the brow of your dream, you can also show me pictures you saved from the net. I check your skintype, we decide which method would suit you the best, then using my special measuring tools, I draw the eyebrows. When we are both happy with the shape, a colour will be chosen, that fits you the best. There are different shades for everybody. On the end of the treatment, I will explain everything about the aftercare, then we can rebook the follow-up appointment within 1-3month.

I have amazing anaesthetic creams, You will be ok. Someone, who has really low pain tolerance, might have a bit of sensitivity, but it is bearable. I have clients , who sleep through the whole process.

No. If your skin is sensitive, you might experience slight redness . This will go down in the next couple of hours. Most of my pictures on Instagram @evamaranthine were taken right after the treatment and redness is barely visible. First day, you might experience a slight sensitivity, but it will calm down for the next day. Lip can swell, but that also goes down quick.

Slight scabbing will occur after treatment and in the next 5-7 days
your eyebrow might be darker. If you follow my aftercare advice, you won't have thick scabbing, rather than a thin layer which will peel down. For working and carrying on everyday life, it won't cause any problem, but if you are planning a big event, I would suggest to plan the treatment after or at least 1,5 weeks before, so it will have time to heal by that time.  You are not allowed to put make upon the fresh brows.

After the first treatment, you can experience up to 50% of lightening, which is normal, that’s why a follow up appointment is recommended after the initial treatment. Scabbing takes about 5-7 days, but the pigment is still settling for about a month, which means right  after the scab fell of, the colour can darken in the next 4-6 weeks. After this time, on the follow up appointment we examine the brows and add an extra layer of pigment. We can even work on the shape, make it stronger, thicker etc.depends on your wish.

Micropigmentation is a 2  step process (unless you already have pre-existing pmu). It is not uncommon to loose up to 50% of the colour after the first session, tha's why is recommended to have a topup 1-3 month  after the initial treatment to achieve a longer lasting result. Touchup charge is € 50. Please bear in mind, the permanent make up ( unlike normal tattoo) will fade with time, as the pigment is implanted to the epidermis, which is the outer layer of the skin and where the cell renewal happens (as new cells born, they gradually rise to the surface of the skin and die there, this way the pigment with time will be pushed to the surface as well). As we get older this cell renewal slows down, which means, younger clients might fade faster.  For my existing clients color boosts are available up to 2 years.

There are certain things, we can not change (cell renewal process for example. Clients with oily skin will fade faster as well, unfortunately), but with a bit of a care , we can make sure our permanent makeup will look fresh longer.

Avoiding the sun, as much as we could, wearing hat, suncream can help.

Avoiding any type of exfoliant on the skin (retionol, chemical peels etc)
